Fashion w/ Hannah

Every shoot I’ve done with Hannah has ended up being one of my favorites. Hannahs confidence and general ‘down-to-earth’ energy always produce amazing images. Hannah and I seem to always have a yearly photoshoot sometime late in the summer.

Funny enough, most of our shoots have been in a parking garage somewhere in Des Moines.

When we had our first shoot, I only used a single telephoto lens on a Canon 6D Mark ii. I had no real idea what I wanted to do for the shoot; I was really just winging it. At that time I had a ‘quantity over quality’ mindset. Since then, I have upgraded to a new camera system and a new outlook on photography.

On our second photoshoot, the “green and white” look, I decided to use a variety of focal lengths to get more dynamic compositions. I used my 85mm and 28mm lens on a Sony a7iii camera body. Additionally, I used Godox brand external lighting.

For the second shoot, we only had about 20 minutes on top of the parking garage before it started to rain. Luckily, I brought my external lighting equipment so we were able to get away from the rain and still get some cool photos within the empty section of the parking garage. It was humid as heck but we got it done.

On our most recent photoshoot, nicknamed, “Light and Airy”, I focused on color and contrast. I used a 1/4 Tiffen diffusion filter which allowed for that glowing highlight look. Needless to say, these images blew my mind. As for what gear was used, I shot with my Sony A7iii and used a 35mm F/1.4 lens.

Honestly, I hope we can keep our photoshoot streak alive for as long as possible.
